COVID-19: Christmas 'could trigger a third Covid wave'

Experts are warning that the mixing of households over Christmas could trigger a third wave of Covid-19.

NHS bosses are concerned the UK could follow in the footsteps of the US, which experienced record hospitalisations and infections following Thanksgiving, when millions of families got together.

The Government has relaxed the tiers system between 23 and 27 December to allow people to meet over Christmas.
