COVID-19 data dive: Average number of deaths falling in England and Wales

The number of people dying in England and Wales has fallen below the five-year average for the first time since September.

Nearly 150,000 people are believed to have died in the UK after being exposed to the virus, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics which include all deaths where COVID-19 is mentioned on the death certificate.
