AstraZeneca has been blamed by the EU for a shortfall in vaccines – despite EU countries suspending its roll-out over safety fears.
The European Commission President said the company had ‘underproduced and underdelivered’.
Ursula von der Leyen said the bloc may restrict vaccine exports to some countries, such as Britain.
EU countries are braced for a third COVID wave, with Germany and France both looking at fresh lockdowns.
