COVID-19: Labour calls for 'common sense' over Xmas parties

Labour says it wants a “common sense” approach to socialising in the run-up to Christmas and backs people meeting up for parties.

The government has taken a similar stance amid fears the hospitality industry would be badly damaged by another COVID Christmas.

But with so little known about the Omicron variant, there are fears big work parties could spark a spike in cases.
