COVID-19: PM ‘not given up’ on foreign holidays this summer

Boris Johnson says ministers are being ‘prudent’ with no decision made yet on the need for vaccine passports from June.

The Prime Minister said cheaper COVID tests might bypass the need for COVID passports.

International travel without a reasonable excuse is banned until at least 17 May.

However, with many countries across Europe suffering a third wave of COVID infections, the government has not yet been able to confirm whether foreign holidays will be allowed beyond that date – leaving many families uncertain over whether to book a summer break abroad.
