COVID-19: Schools rescue package ‘completely inadequate’ to help pupils recover, say headteachers

Nearly 90% of headteachers believe the government is not doing enough to support schools to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Initial findings from research carried out by the National Association of Head Teachers, shared exclusively with Sky News, reveals that 87% of heads said the government’s COVID recovery funding was not enough to meet the needs of pupils.

In a sign of growing discontent between headteachers and the government, unions have described the current level of support on offer as “completely inadequate”.
