COVID-19: Scotland faces Omicron ‘tsunami’

Nicola Sturgeon has announced new regulations to deal with surging COVID cases in Scotland, including new self-isolation rules.

With the virus threatening to “run riot” through the country, she said household contacts of confirmed coronavirus cases would have to self-isolate for 10 days regardless of vaccine status or negative test results.

She also urged people to reconsider holding Christmas parties.
