An incredible video has captured the moment a cat fell from a railing in a packed stadium – and was miraculously rescued with the help of a flag.

The incident took place at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday 11 September during the game between the University of Miami Hurricanes and Appalachian State.

While watching the game, eagle-eyed sports-goers spotted a feline that had somehow managed to climb up onto a railing and was dangerously dangling above the crowd – about to plummet several metres.

In a video that has since gone viral, the cat can be seen dropping to the crowd below as people scream in the background.

But, in a miraculous save, the feline is rescued by one of the visitors who catches the cat in a flag.

The clip has been viewed 1.2 million times with social media users stunned by the scene.

“That kitty used up 8 of his 9 lives with that one! But God bless those who saved him!,” wrote one person.

“How’d the cat get there? That’s what I want to know,” asked someone else, to which a third person replied “You’ve obviously never had a cat before. They can get ANYWHERE!”

“Cats always land on their feet,” wrote another user.

The video was filmed by Victor Bermudez, 29, from Hialeah, Florida, US, who supports the Miami Hurricanes.

Speaking of the moment he saw the cat, Victor told Jam Press: “I was confused at first as to why they were just holding out a flag and when I realized it was to capture the cat I wasn’t sure it would work.”
