Things are heating up between Demi Lovato and wish-he-coulda-been Bachelor alumn Mike Johnson, making the possibility of a final rose surprisingly good.
What’s up guys, it’s Sussan Mourad back here on Clevver News and Mike Johnson may not be able to win the heart of America by way of reality television, BUT he just might be winning over the heart of Demi Lovato, and we are HERE FOR IT.
Joining Gigi Hadid in the act of snagging fan-favorite Bachelor men, Demi called dibs on Mike during Hannah B.’s season of The Bachelorette via Twitter when she would unabashedly tweet about him.
The tragic day he was booted off Hannah’s season, Mike tweeted wondering where his “future wife” was, to which Demi replied, “I’M RIGHT HERE MIKE I’M RIGHT HERE BOO MY MOM ALREADY LOVES YOU TOO.” IDK about you guys, but if Mom approves, it’s kinda a done deal…
But with the help of Hannah Brown herself, and dedicated fans who spread the word around, Mike didn’t skip a beat in playing “the game.”
And by that, I mean totally flirting it up via Instagram photos, thirst traps, comments, emojis, you know, the whole nine yards.
And things are clearly moving quickly as Mike revealed just last week that the two had been talking and were planning on taking things to the next level by going on a date.
Annnnd good news, guys, Mike has not only captured the hearts of America, but apparently, he was also Demi-approved, and we’re only like 75% jealous. According to E! News, “Demi has always had a huge crush on Mike and once they met in person, there was an instant connection.”
The source went on to say that the two haven’t stopped taking since their initial interaction, and that they’ve “been texting and are definitely interested in each other.”
And clearly the two had THAT much fun, that the connection was second-date-worthy. Although the source DID mention that Demi isn’t looking for a serious relationship right now, and that QUOTE, “They have plans to see each other again soon and Demi is really excited about it. Demi is staying open and is excited to see Mike again.”
Mmmhhhmmm, we’ve all given the “I’m not looking for anything serious” spiel when first dating someone, but, like, I totally get it.
Ok, so enough with the “sources” — if you really wanna know how Demi and Mike’s date went, Mike opened up about the experience… well, sorta…
Earlier this week, he admitted to ET Online that the two had, indeed, met up and gone on a date…. Pretty bold, I must say.
He said QUOTE, “Demi Lovato and I went on a date. The woman is quite astounding and amazing. And that’s all I’ll say on that.”
Smart man, that one! Looks like his publicist must’ve prepared him well…
And considering Tyler Cameron has been very tight-lipped about his romance with Gigi Hadid, Mike would be stupid to divulge any more details about his date with Demi orrrr that’s probably the only date with Demi he’ll ever have.
So although the general population seems to be all for Demi dating Mike, especially after Pete the Pilot was given the next Bachelor title, I also have to mention that Hannah also gives her seal of approval for the two, especially since she and Demi are close pals now.
She caught up with Us Weekly and had nothing but good things to say about this potential new relationship, saying QUOTE, “Mike and I still have a great relationship, and Demi has been so supportive of me. So, I mean, they’re both great humans, and if they’re into each other, then that’s great.”
So it seems that Mike and Tyler being passed on by Bachelor producers is only the loss of, well… the Bachelor producers, because now both Demi and Gigi are the stars of their own show… OK, technically they’ve always been, but you get where I’m going with this.
Like I said, true bromance at its finest.
