Yesterday we told you about Dove Cameron’s interview with Seventeen Magazine where she talked about learning to cope with Cameron Boyce’s death. But we didn’t have time to get into another form of heartbreak that the Disney star experienced.
What’s up guys it’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and in the same interview, Dove spoke about her separation from her ex-fiance and Disney Channel co-star, Ryan McCarten.
The two broke up in 2016 after three years of dating in real life and on their show ‘Liv and Maddie.’
“It was my first real relationship,” Dove said in the interview.
And apparently it was harder than she let on.
“I had to make everything look perfect all the time,” she said, “the very low-lows I did not make public”
They did eventually have to share that their very public relationship was over. On October 5, 2016 they both put out individual messages on twitter.
First, Ryan posted “Dove has decided this relationship isn’t what she wants. We still love each other very much. Please be sensitive, as this is painful”.
And then 10 hours later, Dove crafted the perfect response.
“Thank you for your support and full hearts in this very intense and human time. There’s a lot of love between Ryan and I. Life is beautiful and long.”
It definitely seems like the breakup was Dove’s idea.
And Ryan further proved that when he was interviewed on the Allegedly podcast,
“It just plain out sucks,” he said about the breakup, “That’s just kind of how it goes.”
Of course, now Dove is in a relationship with her ‘Descendants’ co-star Thomas Doherty.
And Ryan is dating actress and Youtuber Samantha Fekete
Who you might know from the channel “Totally Trendy”
So I guess all is well that ends well for these two.
