Dozens of migrants booted as yet another NYC shelter shuttered for potential fire hazard

Another emergency migrant shelter was shuttered Monday amid fire safety concerns — the latest in a string of Big Apple sites deemed potential fire traps. NY Post Reporter Kevin Sheehan shares this story.

Dozens of asylum seekers, many of them loaded down with luggage, were kicked out of the former Touro University campus near Penn Station in Manhattan as city fire officials slapped a vacate order on the window and told the migrants they had to clear out.

FDNY officials said 110 people in migrant families were loaded onto city vans and shipped out — leaving about 40 single men stranded on the sidewalk with MetroCards and maps to other shelters in the five boroughs.
