Dramatic video shows a tornado sending a car flying into another vehicle on South Carolina highway

Strong winds lifted a vehicle off the ground in Goose Creek, South Carolina, on August 30, as local news reported that the National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed a tornado had touched down in the area that day.

Video recorded by Mason Stewart shows a vehicle being flipped into the air by a strong gust of wind, before crashing down onto another.

Local news said that NWS officials confirmed a small, brief tornado touched down in Goose Creek on Wednesday.

Goose Creek Police Chief LJ Roscoe told local news that “two people were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.”

The NWS issued a tornado watch for the area until Wednesday evening.

Idalia weakened into a tropical storm on Wednesday evening, after moving into Georgia, the National Hurricane Center said.
