Soaring gas prices are crippling commercial industries and small businesses in the UK, and 12 energy suppliers have collapsed this year.
The Treasury has made it clear it doesn’t expect to bail out business over the surge in energy prices, dismissing claims of ongoing talks from the Business Secretary.
Kwasi Kwarteng told Trevor Phillips On Sunday that he was engaging with the Treasury about how to help. In response, Treasury sources told Sky: “he’s making it up”
Labour accused the government of presiding over chaos.
