A firm led by Ukrainian businessman Alexander Temerko is behind the project to build a electricity cable from France to the UK.
Aquind has been criticised after it was revealed that two ministers in the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, where the decision on the project will be made, have links to the company’s owner.
Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng is set to make a call soon.
However Richard Glasspool, an Aquind director, told Sky News that he doesn’t see the money making “any difference” to the upcoming decision.
