Kwasi Kwarteng has made a formal request for treasury help for businesses struggling to cope with rising energy prices.
Ministers had previously confirmed that they had struck a deal which will guarantee continued supplies of Carbon Dioxide to UK businesses, and Liberty Steel secured a £50m cash injection to safeguard 660 jobs in Rotherham.
