The MTV Movie and TV Awards came and went with no trace of our Riverdale favorites, and I can’t help but ask WHY?!
What’s up guys? It’s Drew Dorsey here with Clevver News and while Riverdale was nominated for best show, none of the cast was present at the MTV Movie and TV Awards.
Like hello Archie, Jughead, Betty, Veronica where are you?!
I am just over here bummed out that we didn’t get all the epic couple moments between Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse and Cami Mendes and Charles Melton.
They are basically the entire reason I wanted to watch the award show!
Last year almost the entire cast was present and they were only nominated for one less award this year than last.
This year Riverdale was nominated for best show and our favorite on and off screen couple Cami Mendes and Charles Melton were nominated for Best Kiss.
Best Kiss and Best Show are literally two of the biggest awards of the night…
So where were they all?
We took a look at their social media to try to get some answers.
It looks like KJ Apa was working on his upcoming film “I Still Believe,” which is a valid excuse and he recently celebrated a birthday!
And from her Instagram Stories, it looked like Lili Reinhart was watching Wall-E over the weekend. Not sure if she was working on something else, but she wasn’t present either.
But the most confusing one of all was Vanessa Morgan, who apparently was never even invited to this year’s award show.
Her role as Toni Topaz scored a nomination for best musical moment, but she tweeted that she never received an invitation to the show.
She shared MTV’s post about her nomination and said quote, “Guess the invite got lost in the mail then lol”
AWKWARD!!!
So maybe that’s why none of the cast showed up? It’s crazy to have zero Riverdale presence at an award show that is literally perfect for Riverdale.
Were all of their invitations lost in the mail?
Well that certainly explains where mine went.
And fans noticed that none of the Riverdale cast wasn’t there.
One person tweeted yesterday quote, “without the cast of riverdale I do not watch tomorrow”
And another person said quote, “where’s the riverdale cast?
If I know one thing about fans of Riverdale, they definitely turn up and vote.
And with the MTV Movie and TV Awards being voted on by fans, it makes no sense that they wouldn’t have won a single award.
I guess that may be why they didn’t show up.
None of the other cast members posted about the award show, so we may never know, but I want to know what you think.
