Floods across Europe drowned cities, devastated towns, made thousands of people homeless, and the number of people who have died as a result is climbing.
Business owners in Belgium grapple with the idea of losing their livelihoods for good after flash floods destroy shops, restaurants and homes.
Government leaders and scientists have said publicly that the cause of these floods is climate change.
