One of Prince Charles’ former aides has stepped down from his role as a charity chief executive over claims he offered to help secure an honour for a rich Saudi donor.
Michael Fawcett, previously a valet to the Prince of Wales, has temporarily left his job at The Prince’s Foundation while the allegations are investigated, the organisation has confirmed.
The Sunday Times and Mail On Sunday have both reported that Mr Fawcett coordinated support for an honour to be given to businessman Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz.
