This is the incredible moment a fisherman reeled in a giant crocodile which refused to let go of the line.
Trent de With was fishing with family in Victoria river in Northern Territory, Australia when the reptile appeared on October 12.
The excited fisherman battled with the crocodile, which refused to let go of the lure while leaping out of the water multiple times.
Trent, who runs the Rod & Rifle TackleWorld Katherine store, said that it is common to accidentally hook animals, including huge crocodiles, in that part of the river.
He said: “You just fight it till the line breaks or the hooks let go. That rod and reel are good quality stuff – which makes all the difference especially when you hook a big barra you don’t want your gear to fail.”
The struggle ended when the lure snapped off from the line and the animal swam back into the water.
His fishing rod was also severely bent, almost breaking in two while the crocodile pulled the lure from it.
The family continued with the fishing trip after the crocodile has left and caught several large barramudi fish.
