Fisherman on Brexit: “I would change my vote now if I could”

An oyster fisherman in Kent says they’ve suffered a 50% drop in sales due to the UK leaving the EU Single Market and the associated long customs checks.

£20,000 worth of business have been cancelled this week on top of disputes with the French authorities.

Having voted to ‘take back control’, James Green says that taking away his main market overnight and new bureaucracy has had a huge negative effect on trade.

He says he feels let down by Boris Johnson’s “oven-ready deal”, and that he had believed that things would improve after Brexit.
