Girlfriend Blacks Out While Freediving (BF RESCUE POV)

A freediver lost consciousness during a shipwreck dive off Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, after reaching a depth of around 66 feet. Katie blacked out during her ascent, just below the surface, in what is known as a shallow water blackout. Her boyfriend sensed something was wrong and was already descending toward her before she could signal for help.

He and another dive buddy were able to bring her safely back to the surface. Katie believes factors including sea conditions, time spent underwater, and an elevated heart rate contributed to the incident. The experience became a stark reminder of how quickly a freedive can become life-threatening and why freedivers should never dive alone.

NO INJURY.
