Harry Styles Epically SHADES Zayn Malik During ‘SNL’ Monologue!

Harry Styles is a man of many talents — he can sing, he can dance, and he can act, as proven during his recent Saturday Night Live stint, but one thing he wasn’t capable of doing was remembering the name of the fifth band member of One Direction… ouch…

What’s up guys and happy Monday, it’s Emile Ennis Jr. back here on Clevver News, and you probably noticed that your social media feeds were bombarded with Harry Styles spam over the weekend.

Good news for us all, I am here to feed your minds and cure your Monday blues with even more.

Our fave Brit stopped by the set of Saturday Night Live to show off his singing, acting and first-time hosting chops.

Naturally he crushed it, but in doing so, very boldly shaded his former One Direction castmate, Zayn Malik, during his monologue.

Like, for real, we know subtle shade when we hear it, and this was just… not that. Take a look:

I’M SORRY… RINGO? RINGO?!!?!?!

If there was ever a repeat Mariah Carey circa the JLo “I don’t know her” phase, it’s this. I mean even I felt that sick, slow burn from the comfort of my own home.

So how Harry actually got to letting the fifth member’s name become wiped from his memory was during a part in his monologue when he began to introduce himself.

While sitting around a grand piano with a sexy, smoldering look on his face, Harry started by saying, “Now, I don’t know if you’ve heard, but I’m not in a boy band anymore. I’m in a man band now. I was in a band called One Direction.”

He then teased the audience by saying, “How crazy would it be if they were here tonight? Well, they’re not here. How crazy would be if they were, though?”

Harry proceeded to gush over his bros, calling him his “brothers,” annnnd then the shade happened.

Zayn, who quit the band back in 2015 to embark on his own solo career, left the group to finish out their run as a foursome for another two years, has yet to comment on Harry’s monologue, but hopefully this is all just fun and games and the two are laughing about this over a pint, right?!

But Zayn didn’t just happen Harry’s only target of the night.

In case you were too busy drooling over the mad Mick Jagger vibes protruding from your TV screens, Harry also took a shot at his own love life…

As he was talking about his relationship with SNL, he explained that he and the show were QUOTE, “…more than just friends” and that the two, in fact, have taken things to the next level.

Oh, and if you were at all feeling down in the dumps about your own relationship status, this one’s for you:

I’M LIVING FOR THIS, YOU GUYS.

Another hilarious zinger from Harry’s monologue was his shoutout to One Direction creator Simon Cowell.

It wasn’t necessarily shade, but what better time than the month of giving thanks to literally give thanks to Simon.

He said QUOTE, “I’m just so grateful Simon Cowell grew us in those test tubes.”

I think I speak for the general population of the entire world when I say that, SO ARE WE, HARRY. SO ARE WE.

But going back to the whole Ringo… uh… Zayn conundrum. Regarding whether or not the boys still keep in touch with Zayn, it was just this month that Liam Payne revealed to GQ that the guys have rarely heard from him in the time since he left the band.

On that note, things seemed to have ended on a pretty sour note, according to Liam. “He didn’t even say goodbye, if I am being honest. It was a really sordid scenario, from our side certainly. A bit strange. It’s difficult,” he added.

Harry did wish his former bandmate well, and added that, “…it’s a shame he felt that way.”

A few months later, Zayn responded to Harry’s interview, saying that he didn’t even expect to have a relationship with Harry after they went their separate ways, adding that the two weren’t even close during the band days anyway.

Soooo something tells me Zayn really couldn’t care less about Harry’s monologue, and that he won’t be shooting him a call or a text any time soon…

But I do want to leave this on a positive note and share that Harry’s episode of SNL quickly became one of the season’s best episode, all thanks to his natural comedic whips, so while I STILL continue to hold out for a 1D reunion in the coming months, I want to hear all your thoughts on Harry’s monologue.
