The Health Secretary Sajid Javid says we still don’t know enough about the new Omicron variant of COVID-19 which has arrived in the UK.
So the government is rolling out a huge campaign to deliver booster vaccinations to all adults by the end of January – something he described as a ‘national mission’.
And Mr Javid reiterated the Prime Minister’s appeal to not cancel Christmas parties or school nativities – but he said he would be taking a lateral flow test beforehand.
