Health Secretary: “We don’t have a COVID-19 vaccine yet”

Health secretary Matt Hancock has urged caution with regard to a potential COVID-19 vaccine, telling MPs “we don’t have one yet.”

He was updating the House of Commons following yesterday’s news that trials of a vaccine by pharmaceutical giant Pfizer had exceeded expectations.

The injection appears to provide protection to 90 percent of those given it, raising hopes that the end of the pandemic could be in sight.
