Hockey fan 'saves coach's life' after spotting cancerous mole

A ice hockey fan has been given a medical scholarship after alerting a coach to a cancerous mole on his neck.

Nadia Popovici told Sky News she initially thought she’d made a mistake in telling Brian Hamilton to see a doctor ASAP.

Nadia was at a Seattle Cracken and Vancouver Canucks match in October when she spotted the mole on the back of Hamilton’s neck as she watched the game.

She wrote a message on her phone telling him to seek medical help.

He did and the mole was removed.

The two teams have now clubbed together to pay Nadia’s $10,000 student medical fees.
