A homeowner in Springville, California, escaped serious injury when his carport collapsed onto his vehicles following a storm.
The security camera footage shows Jay Kelley walking through his carport shortly before the structure crashed down.
Kelley said: “Our town was hit by a colossal storm the day before. Luckily, as soon as I exited my car, I heard some cracking noise and a cat on top of the roof meowing.
“I moved aside to see what was wrong with the cat and at that point, the carport collapsed. I cheated death! Special thanks to the angels on my shoulders.
“A local solar company installed the carport 4 years prior to this incident.”
This video was recorded in June 2019 and has amassed over 2.5 million views on TikTok.
