Live action ‘The Little Mermaid’ star Halle Bailey is taking some major cues from her mentor Beyoncé, who has played a huge role in her career, in prepping for her role as Ariel. Also hello Queen Bey if you are accepting any new mentees, hit me up.
What’s up guys? It’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and for Halle Bailey, and for most of us, Beyoncé plays an essential role in her life.
In case you don’t know the origin of Halle’s relationship with Queen Bey, let me enlighten you.
Halle and her sister Chloe launched their YouTube channel around 8 years ago with a cover of Beyoncé’s “Best Thing I Never Had”.
Then their rendition of “Pretty Hurts” by Beyoncé went viral and actually caught Beyonce’s attention.
In 2015, Queen Bey signed the sister duo, known as Chloe x Halle, to her management company, Parkwood Entertainment.
And now, as Halle prepares to head under the sea to star in Disney’s live-action “The Little Mermaid,” she’s taking a note from her mentor Beyonce’s book: “Be your own self.”
Halle told E! News quote, “One thing that we love about Beyoncé is that she always gives us the space to grow on our own and to accomplish things on our own and fly with our own wings. We love her inside and out.”
Same Halle, same.
And since she was cast as Ariel, Halle has been pinching herself.
She said quote, “I am just feeling really grateful, feeling really blessed. Praying. Getting myself together just in time for rehearsing and filming that all starts in January. Very excited, just enjoying myself.”
And as for Chloe, she couldn’t be prouder of her little sister.
She spoke to People about Halle landing the role and said quote, “Heck yeah! I was more than proud. I was screaming and crying. She worked so hard.”
And Halle isn’t paying attention to any of the negativity or backlash regarding her casting.
And many fans have Halle’s back when it comes to brushing off the haters.
One person tweeted quote, “That’s right pooh! Don’t pay attention to the squawking bitter birds ?. You slay this movie and get that bag! ????♀️”
And another person said quote, “You’re right Halle, this role is trailblazing and will mean so much to little kids all over the world!! Im so happy for you!!! ❤”
And we couldn’t agree more, we can’t wait for this movie and for Halle to slay this role.
