26th Feb Morning
On 26th February’s morning, Indian Air Force crossed the LOC and carried out airstrikes in Balkot which is considered as a fort of terrorist training and activities. Balkot is the region in Pakistan’s Mansehra Khyber Pakhtunkhwa territory which is 60km away from the area where Osama bin Laden was found and killed in May 2011.
As per Government of India official statement, 12 fighter jets were used to destroy terror camps n this airstrike. Officially no number has been declared regarding the terrorist killed in this air strike. But our Government has said that ‘very large number’ of terrorists killed in this air strike.
Media used its own sources to quote their own numbers. Some say 350, others say nearly 600.
On the other hand Pakistan acknowledged that Indian jets came into Pakistan’s territory. However, per Pakistan Government, no one was killed in the air strike. Both the countries have not released any official data or details regarding the air strike. Our Government has said that this was a non-military preventive action. By Non-military they mean that it wasn’t against Pakistan or its Civilians but was targeted against the Terrorists.
This was an action taken against the terrorists. Preventive means it was intended to prevent future terrorist attacks on India or Indian Armed forces.
As India had always faced a threat from terrorist groups which could have attacked us in the future. So this action was a preventive measure.
On 26th February, at 7AM, the Pakistani army gave a statement threatening that they would retaliate to India by surprising us. And within the evening our media and most of the BJP leaders, started chest-thumping. Congratulating themselves and celebrating claiming that they had done Surgical Strike 2.0.
Throughout the night, the reports of firing at the border kept coming in. And on the morning of 27th February, Pakistan claimed that they had infiltrated the Indian airspace and carried out an air strike on six non-military target. Later in the video of Imran Khan he said that the reason behind that air strike was that they wanted to convey a message to India that If India could infiltrate the airspace of Pakistan, Pakistan also can infiltrate Indian air space as well.
Indian military mentioned that 3 Pakistani jets crossed LOC, but 6 jets of the Indian Air Force sent them back. Pakistan had said that during this action they had shot down 2 Indian Air Force jets, when they were inside over Pakistan’s territory.
And they captured 2 Indian Air Force pilots. But after some time Pakistan took an U-turn on this statement and said that They captured only one Indian Air Force pilot, not two. Later our Ministry of External Affairs admitted that one of our pilots is missing.
Pakistan revealed that it is Wing Commander Abhinandan.
There were three videos released by Pakistan to the public. In these videos Abhinandan was seen.
Video 1:
In the first video Wing Commander Abhinandan was seen on the ground being hit by some people. People from Pakistani army are trying to stop them and later the soldiers take him away. In this video there are no injuries on his face.
Video 2:
In the second video, Wing Commander Abhinandan is blindfolded and blood was coming out from his mouth. Here he is stating his name, country and religion. And very bravely he denies to reveal any other information.
Video3:
In the third video, there is no bleeding seen and he starts drinking tea. Although he is under stress and drinks tea quickly. But he says that Pakistani army has treated him well and that he is not facing any problems there. Again he refuses to share any more details. If the third video is the latest video, then we’re happy to see that the Wing Commander looks fine. After this, at nearly 4pm our Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a Khelo India app. This is a sports-oriented app for smartphones. But the Government did not release any media briefing. This is the reason why the next day’s headline of the Bangalore Mirror was, Maun (Art of Being Silent) Speech. These are the ministers who did not release any media statement.
27th Feb
During the Prime Time of 27th February, the headlines of War-mongering, fake news and propaganda were being spread by the Pakistani media. On the other hand, in the evening of 27th February, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan released a video. He said that they do not want to start a war and are extending an offer of peace. I’d like to tell you an interesting fact friends, Imran Khan’s political party, PTI’s largest presence is in the same province where India carried out the air strike. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. This province is well known for terrorism and terrorist activities.
Osama bin Laden was also found in this province by the US. Peshawar is the capital of this province where the worst recent terrorist attack in Pakistan took place. In this attack 139 school children were killed.
On 27th February around 10am, an Indian Air Force helicopter crashed in the Budgam district of Kashmir. More than six soldiers were martyred in this crash and one civilian was killed too. Here the Government said that the helicopter was on its routine mission. But the reason behind this crash is not clear. It’s possible that it is unrelated to the issue with Pakistan.
A Court of Inquiry has been ordered into this incident. On 27th February, 21 opposition parties released a joint statement, where they praised the Indian Air Force for the air strike. But they also criticize BJP and Modi for politicizing this situation with Pakistan.
Rahul Gandhi said that National Security must transcend national political considerations. BJP’s Karnataka CM candidate Yeddyurappa had started counting his seats while our soldiers were dying. He said that because of the air strikes they would win 22 out of 28 seats in Karnataka.
BJP’s Gujrat Leader said that people have nationalist sentiment. There is a wave of nationalism among the people which they would have to convert into votes. He was instructing his booth workers. And you would’ve noticed the boards on the roads praising PM Modi for the Surgical Strike 2.0. Unknown BJP leaders are busy printing their photos with Surgical Strike 2.0. In my opinion this is an embarrassment. On one hand they are busy politicizing the strike by the stealing the credit from the Indian Air Force, and congratulating themselves. Today #meraboothsabsemazboot (my party BJP is the strongest) is trending. He addresses the BJP party workers at a huge rally.
In my opinion friends this whole air strike should’ve been secretive and undercover. There was no need to tell the whole country about the air strike. If this could’ve been a secret for even a few years it would’ve been beneficial for our country.
Pakistan may not even have retaliated then. Akash Banerjee said the same thing in his Mossad video. When Israel carries out an operation, they let it be secretive and undercover for many years.
They don’t start chest thumping or celebrating. But our media wants to reveal all the details of the operation to the public for TRP. Like you can see here, this was a secretive operation. Why are such things told by the media? Same thing happened during the 26/11 attack, the terrorists could simply turn on the TV to know about the future counter measure operations. Later the Government told the TV channels that they should not cover the operations on their channels.
All of us need to change too so that we demand from the Government and media that we do not want any details about the operations. We trust what the Indian Air Force, India Army are doing and that they’d be successful. And if we get the details after 5-6 years, we’ll be happy then.
