A spokesperson for the ruling BJP party in India has denied political rallies and religious gatherings contributed to the devastating second wave of coronavirus, which has hit the country “like a tsunami”.
Narendra Taneja told Sky News that they couldn’t see it coming, but that they were seeing improvements and the country was resilient and would come through this crisis.
