Instagram may be rolling out a big change and let’s just say you may not LIKE it.

What’s up y’all?! It’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and I have to give you the latest update on Instagram’s possible future update. If you’re confused just stay with me. So most of us love Instagram. We scroll the page to see what our friends and favorite celebs have decided to post that day. We get our news updates from Instagram. We watch people’s stories. But one of the things that we all do and may not even realize, is we look at how many likes a photo has. Well that may be changing soon. Jane Wong tweeted on April 18 screenshots that showed what Instagram was working on. She tweeted, “Instagram is testing hiding like count from audiences, as stated in the app: “We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get” In the screenshot, you can also see it says that “only the person who shared a post will see the total number of likes it gets.” Jane is a reverse engineer who finds out all the secrets that are being tested in our favorite apps. Instagram has responded saying that the feature is not being tested right now, but they are QUOTE, “exploring ways to reduce pressure on Instagram is something we’re always thinking about.” As more and more health experts reveal the negative effects of social media, it makes sense that Instagram would increasingly look for ways to, as they put it, reduce pressure. Last year, they added the update where you could see how much time you’re spending on the app. However, just because they are testing this doesn’t mean that it will actually make it to an official update.

While scrolling through the replies, it looks like people have mixed reviews. One user said, “Removing some of the pressure of popularity without losing the dopamine. Excellent.”
Some other users were focused on how it would effect business and influencer accounts, and quite a few tweets were just asking for chronological order to come back.

We’ll see what actually happens, but it’s time for you to let us know what you think. Would you like it if you didn’t see how many people liked other people’s post? Let us know in the comment section below and also follow me on Instagram, Twitter, & YouTube @emileennisjr. If you want to like some of my photos on Instagram you can do that too.
