Israel’s Ambassador to the UK, Tzipi Hotovely said it was time for Israel to act to protect its citizens, after attacks between Israel and Palestine flared into the worst outbreak of violence in seven years.
At least 48 people have been killed in Gaza including 14 children, and five in Israel. At least 304 people have been wounded.
The UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has urged both sides to “step back from the brink” and to show restraint.
Ms Hotovely spoke to Sky’s Adam Boulton.
