Fans of “Jeopardy!” were in an uproar Monday night when a contestant won the game after mispronouncing Ewan McGregor’s name.
The mayhem occurred after professor Melissa Klapper answered the $600 question under the “Quite the Fish Story” category.
“The Force of Lasse Hallström was strong to pull in this Scot to play a fisheries expert in ‘Salmon Fishing in the Yemen,’” read the question.
Klapper responded almost instantly with “Ewan Gregor.”
Host Ken Jennings permitted the wrong answer without interruption, allowing Klapper to gain an edge over her competitors.
However, the Force was not strong with Klapper as several of the game show’s fans rebuked the answer on Twitter.
“Tonight there was a mistake on @Jeopardy the woman in the middle named Melissa said ‘Ewan Gregor’ when really it’s ‘Ewan Mcgregor’ I played it back twice just to make sure,” snapped one fan.
