President Biden received his COVID-19 booster vaccine Monday afternoon — calling the administration of third doses part of the White House’s effort to do “everything [it] can” to keep people safe from the virus.
“The bottom line is that if you’re fully vaccinated… you’re highly protected now from severe illness even if you get COVID-19. You’re safe, and we’re going to do everything we can to keep it that way with the boosters,” said Biden, who rolled up his shirt sleeve in front of the cameras to get the shot in his left arm.
“But let me be clear, boosters are important, but the most important thing we need to do is get more people vaccinated,” the president said.
