US President Joe Biden says America needs to prepare for the climate crisis after 29 people were killed in flooding in New York and other parts of the US.
The city was hit by the remnants of Hurricane Ida, with wind and raining tearing through the city.
New York suffered its wettest hour on record, with more than 80mm of rain falling in Central Park in the space of an hour.
