After deliberating for XX hours Friday, the Texas Senate has announced it’s ready to vote on 16 articles of impeachment, including bribery and abuse office, that the Texas House filed against Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Paxton — who has been suspended without pay since May 27, when House members voted overwhelmingly to impeach him — could be permanently removed from office if senators find him guilty of at least one charge. Senators could then take another vote to bar Paxton from ever holding elected office in Texas.
