Lebanon’s crisis: economic despair threatens the military’s stability

The economic crisis and turmoil between Lebanon and Syria is seeing smuggling and people trafficking surge.

Lebanon is currently suffering from a severe economic depression while housing over 2 million Syrian refugees in dire camps. The country’s last line of defence, the military, are working around the clock for a fraction of their previous wages.

Sky’s Alistair Bunkall visits military forces patrolling the border and witnesses this perfect storm first hand.
