People love surprises: surprise parties, a surprise raise, surprise trips to Disneyland! These are all great things and something I would want very much. A surprise separation from your wife, though? Not so much
What’s up guys it’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and according to sources close to Liam Hemsworth, he only found out about his separation from Miley Cyrus via social media.
You probably remember just a little over a month ago when we first told you the news of Miley and Liam’s separation.
The two got married on December 23 of 2018 which The Sun reports, as a “last-ditch attempt to make the relationship work”.
But less than a year later they’re discovering that marriage was just a band-aid over much deeper wounds.
It all started August 10 when Miley posted a photo of herself sans-wedding ring
Shortly after, a rep for Miley confirmed the news and told People Magazine quote, “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
And appaaaarently, Liam heard that statement for the first time along with the rest of us.
See, he was in Australia at the time visiting his brother. You might have heard of him.
Which is VERY big “Been in Africa, what’d I miss ??” Cazzie David energy.
And Miley, well, she was in Italy doing you-know-what with you-know-who.
Okay okay, yeah, she was making out all over the place with Kaitlynn Carter.
So while the reports are saying that Liam was blindsided by the announcement of their separation, we have to point out that the couple had been unofficially separated for a while.
Like, most sources are saying that they’ve been over for months. There just hasn’t been an official public declaration of their split. This past July, Liam was spotted without his wedding ring as well.
And he might have forgotten it on this Saint Laurent photoshoot too, where his hand was FIRMLY glued to the inside of his pocket.
And Liam, well, he might not have been ready to make it public.
It wasn’t for another two days that Liam addressed the announcement on his own social media account. He posted on Instagram “Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets.”
And you know what? It’s OKAY that he didn’t want to be public about his breakup yet. I mean, look how everything has changed for them since that all happened a month ago.
According to the Daily Mail Australia, he had said at the time “You don’t understand what it’s like. I don’t want to talk about it, mate”.
And that might be why Liam is still taking it easy in Australia, remotely promoting his movie “Killerman” that was quietly released at the end of August.
But Miley’s team is saying that Liam knew about the announcement all along.
Meanwhile, in between make out sessions on a boat, in a club, and on the streets, Miley was teasing her new song “Slide Away” – a ballad about her breakup from her husband.
Both parties seem to agree that the relationship was falling apart, and both seemingly tried to make it work. I mean, they agreed to get married, right?
But on August 21, it was Liam who eventually filed for divorce.
Divorce proceedings haven’t happened yet, but when they do we’ll be the first to let you know about what’s happening.
