Fans of the late Disney star and philanthropist Cameron Boyce will be happy to know that pretty soon they will be able to wear their heart on their sleeves – as his family is setting up a clothing line in his honor.
What’s up guys it’s Emile Ennis Jr here with Clevver News and Cameron’s family has decided to make clothes with a message to honor their son.
Cameron passed away on July 6th of this year after suffering from a seizure in his sleep. He was just 20 years old when he passed away.
While he was alive, Cameron was much more than just a Disney star. He was a philanthropist and an advocate for a lot of important issues including gun control, antibullying, and LGBTQ rights.
So when designer, stylist, and personal friend of Cameron Veronica Graye wanted to honor him, his family knew that it was the right call.
The line is called “Archives” and first started teasing their project in late August with this Instagram photo. In a collage of photos of Cameron, they placed their logo “archives – Cameron Boyce” along with “coming soon”
But don’t go rushing to the store just yet – most of their products won’t come out until November of this year.
For now you can preorder two different sweatshirts on their website – archives from dot com.
They’ve got a black sweatshirt as well as a limited edition version with two blue patches on it. The website vouches that the patches are from Cameron’s personal wardrobe – meaning they were cut right off of Cameron’s clothes or costumes that he wore. There’s only 100 of these special edition sweatshirts that can be preordered, so if you want one go check them out immediately after you finish this video.
Both of the sweatshirts say “I’m a person, not a label” on the sleeves and are vegan friendly.
It continues to tell the legacy of the partnership between Cameron and Veronica, saying that they have worked together since 2017. “Their relationship was centered around values, always discussing what they had to say and how they were going to say it.”
Apparently, Archives had been created while Cameron was still alive, and they were planning on debuting some of the pieces during his press events.
On September 1 they shared another Instagram story saying they “cannot wait to share what Cameron had been working on”
But an unfortunate turn of events has led them to change their distribution tactics and get them in the hands of fans everywhere.
Some of Cameron’s friends and costars have already gotten their sweatshirts and are helping to promote the clothing line with a cause.
Peyton List posted this photo of her wearing hers. As did co-stars China Ann McClain and BooBoo Stewart. China also posted a photo saying “I’m so proud of Cam every day”.
In her Instagram story highlights, she also shouts out “Wielding Peace” – the anti gun art event that Cameron’s sister put on in his honor.
I told you about it not too long ago. She did a photo series of young men and women holding every day objects as if they were a gun to bring awareness to gun violence in America.
And a portion of the proceeds for Archive will go to the Cameron Boyce Foundation set up by his parents shortly after his death.
It provides young people artistic and creative outlets as alternatives to violence and negativity and uses resources and philanthropy for positive change in the world”
