Lizzo is 100% that b***h AND she’s making history. Get you a girl that can do both.

What’s up? It’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and Lizzo’s iconic song “Truth Hurts” just hit number-one on the Billboard Hot 100.

It had been sitting at around number three until yesterday, when “Truth Hurts” knocked Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes’ “Señorita,” out of the number one spot.

And Lizzo hitting number one is so special because according to Rated R&B Magazine, she’s the first black woman this year to earn that coveted spot.

The last time a black solo female R&B artist held the top spot was in 2012 when Rihanna’s “Diamonds” topped the charts.

And Lizzo’s road to becoming the first female R&B ruler of the Hot 100 in seven years started back in May when “Truth Hurts” debuted at number 50.

But if you’re a true Lizzo stan like me, you’ll know that this song came out back in 2017.

Lizzo kept on performing and promoting this hit and eventually make it to stages like the VMA’s and the BET Awards.

We love ourselves a persistent queen.

Lizzo joins a small group of only 11 Black female R&B artists over the past 20 years who have gone number one without a featured artist or collab on the Hot 100 chart.

And she does not take this honor lightly.

She posted about the news on her Instagram sharing a screenshot of the charts and writing quote, “WE’RE NUMBER 1. THIS IS A W FOR ALL OF US. ANYBODY WHO EVER FELT LIKE THEY VOICE WASN’T HEARD. ANYBODY WHO FELT LIKE THEY WEREN’T GOOD ENOUGH. YOU ARE. WE ARE. CHAMPIONS. I LOVE YALL 3 MUCH. LIZZBIANS UNITE”

She also shared a screenshot of a tweet of hers from 2017 when Truth Hurts first came out that said quote, “Ok sorry… if you follow me. But imma promote Truth Hurts all day cuz it’s the best video I’ve ever made and I’m proud of it.”

And celebs are all up in the comments congratulating Lizzo.

Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness wrote quote, “Yessss yes yes. So excited and so deserved your music is LIFE.”

And SZA wrote quote, “YEA MAN . Speechless . Do that SHIEETTTTTTTYTTY???????????”

Lizzo also shared the news on Twitter and quote, “100% BLACK & NUMBER 1”

And obviously the Lizzbians are feeling good as hell.

They are flooding her Twitter with congrats for their queen.

One person wrote quote, “congratulations girl you’re shining ! ✨”

And another said quote, “It’s September and it took this long to get a black woman #1? Well, it couldn’t happen to a more deserving woman!!!”

And we couldn’t agree more.

We’re gonna go listen to Truth Hurts on repeat to celebrate.

But I want to know what you guys think.

Can you believe it took Truth Hurts this long to hit number one? And what Lizzo songs are you going to be jamming to today to celebrate?
