London's transport network could be cut if government money isn't secured

If Transport for London – TfL – can t negotiate funding new funding from the government within 17 days, fares could rise and services cut.

The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan says TfL is one of the largest transport organisations in the world but receives the least amount of government funding.

He said that before the COVID-19 pandemic, most funding came from fares but since lockdown their profits reduced dramatically, forcing TfL to go to the government for support.
