Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber says his new play echoes the the plight of migrants by telling the story of a girl ‘searching for equality.’
Lord Webber’s musical ‘Cinderella’ is a modern feminist interpretation of the classic fairy tale that almost came to a tragic end when its opening came under threat.
The composer said he was prepared to go to jail if he couldn’t open his show after his cast was forced to self isolate – and as a result he became a voice for struggling theatres across the UK.
