Mental health trust fined £1.5m for failing patients

A mental health trust has been fined 1.5 million pounds for failings relating to the deaths of eleven patients.

It follows an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive into the Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

The judge said there had been a litany of failings which led to the trust’s failure to prevent suicides.
