Just when you thought Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter’s love was the real thing, they break up and break my heart.
What’s up? It’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and as I’m sure you’ve already heard, Miley and Kaitlynn’s short lived romance has sadly come to an end.
Their two month-ish summer romance began after their breakups from Liam Hemsworth and Brody Jenner.
And the story of two women friends leaving their men and falling for each other, was like the modern day rom com I never knew I needed.
I mean we all remember those pics from Miley and Kaitlynn’s trip to Italy that basically broke the internet, and since then they have been packing on the PDA everywhere they go.
They have been seen together in clubs, at awards shows, and walking down the street holding hands… It really seemed like these two were going somewhere and I was so here for it.
Just a couple weeks ago, a source told Us Weekly that they had “really fallen” for each other and that Miley was “really comfortable” with her new flame because she could quote “totally be herself with Kaitlynn.”
And last month at New York Fashion Week, Kaitlynn was even spotted wearing a ring with the letter “M” on her left hand.
I mean, things were definitely looking like they were getting serious.
So now there’s only one question on my mind, why did they break up?
A source told E! News that quote, “It was getting serious and Miley wasn’t comfortable with that.When they first got together, it was just a fun casual thing, but it ended up becoming a lot and there were big emotions attached. It went from 0 to 60 and she wanted to put on the brakes.”
Ugh, yeah I totally get that for Miley, especially after ending a marriage slash 10 year relationship. Too much too soon can be a lot.
And while it looks like Miley was the one who ended the relationship, these two are apparently still a part of each other’s lives.
A source told People Magazine that quote, “They’re still friends. They’ve been friends forever and were there for each other when they were both getting separated, but they’re just not in a romantic relationship anymore.”
Ok so while they may not be together together, at least they are still friends, things could definitely be worse.
I mean wasn’t it just reported that Miley and Kaitlynn were living together? It that’s the case it seems like they are definitely still supporting each other, just not dating anymore.
And Kaitlynn even commented on Miley’s Instagram pic over the weekend just after news of their split broke.
Miley posted this pic of herself jamming out during her performance at the the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas.
And Kaitlynn posted a supportive comment saying quote, “GET IT!”

So it seems like these two are both doing okay and are still there for each other.
But while Miley and Kaitlynn seem to be just fine, the internet is not well over this news.
Kaitlynn’s Hills co-star Spencer Pratt tweeted an article about Miley and Kaitlynn’s split and wrote quote, “I’m actually sad”
Me too Spencer, me too.
And a fan said quote, “Not that anyone cares, but I actually really liked them together. Thought they were cute… shame.”
Don’t worry, we care and we hear you.
I thought they were really cute too.
