Nadhim Zahawi: ‘Arrogant’ to suggest health care problems can be fixed in five minutes

Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi says it would be “arrogant” to suggest NHS backlogs and social care problems can be fixed quickly.

The Prime Minister is expected to announce later that National Insurance contributions will rise by 1.2% to pay for the “catastrophic costs” of social care and the drive to reduce NHS waiting lists.

The backlogs have soared due to the COVID-19 pandemic with around five million people currently waiting for treatment.
