Florida teen Aiden Fucci sentenced to life for stabbing of cheerleader Tristyn Bailey, 13 | NY Post

News- US
http://youtu.be/8sovO7ljhdg A Florida teen who savagely stabbed a 13-year-old cheerleader to death was sentenced to life in prison Friday morning as the judge described his senseless desire to simply “feel what it was like to kill someone.” Aiden Fucci, 16 — who stabbed Tristyn Bailey 114 times then dumped her body in a wooded area near Jacksonville in 2021 — was handed down the maximum sentence due to the brutal premeditated nature of the murder, said St. Johns County Circuit Judge Lee Smith. “This was not done out of greed. It was not done in retaliation or retribution or revenge. It was not a crime of passion,” Smith declared, according to News4Jax.com. “It was not a crime that was committed because he felt rejected by her. It was not done in a fit of uncontrollable anger. House GOP passes parents’ rights school bill after AOC, Dems cry ‘fascism’ | New York Post

News- US
http://youtu.be/ri8R09lxJcg House Republicans voted overwhelmingly to pass an education bill aimed at protecting parental rights on Friday despite outcry from Democrats like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who likened the law to “fascism.” The GOP passed the Parents Bill of Rights Act in a 213-208 vote, with just five Republicans opposing the measure. No Democrats voted in favor of the bill. “This bill is not complex or complicated,” said Rep. Julia Letlow (R-La.), who authored the bill and defended it Thursday from the House floor. “Nor should it be partisan or polarizing and contrary to what you may hear from my colleagues on the other side of the aisle, it is not an attack on our hard-working teachers, who will always be the heroes in my eyes.” The Parents Bill of Rights — which has ...

Saudi TV airs ‘SNL’-style skit mocking Joe Biden, Kamala Harris | New York Post

News- US
http://youtu.be/K1uiLNY9Nro Joe Biden was portrayed as a hapless buffoon on “SNL” — “Saudi Night Live.” Saudi Arabia’s state-run television network aired a skit where the actor playing the president stumbles as he climbs the staircase leading to Air Force One while the comic portraying Vice President Kamala Harris looks on in horror. The skit poked fun at the real-life gaffes of the 80-year-old Biden, who has had a penchant for frequently losing his balance. In another snippet from the show “Studio 22” that went viral on Friday, the actor portraying Biden is seen wrapping up a speech and waving from a podium at the White House to two flags behind him. He then salutes and steps down from the podium, taking a couple of steps forward and extending his hand to another person, only to real...

Biden hails ‘China’ instead of Canada in Ottawa gaffe —pulls punch on fentanyl | New York Post

News- US
http://youtu.be/U_kOm8D5U2M President Biden on Friday accidentally praised “China” when he meant to say Canada during a speech to parliament members in Ottawa — just moments after he conspicuously failed to identify China when discussing fentanyl smuggling. “Today, I applaud China for stepping up,” the 80-year-old president said, before halting and adding, “excuse me, I applaud Canada.” Biden quickly added, “You can tell what I’m thinking about China. I won’t get into that yet.” The US leader made the error while discussing how Canada’s government agreed to accept more migrants from Latin American countries — immediately after not mentioning China at all while discussing fentanyl, which is driving a surge in US overdose deaths. “We’re tackling the scourge of synthetic drugs that are d...

The research — which will be presented at this year’s European Congress of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) in Copenhagen on April 15 — noted that cross-transmission cases are rare and it’s still unclear if pets are giving germs to people or the other way around. “Our findings verify that the sharing of multidrug-resistant organisms between companion animals and their owners is possible,” lead researcher Dr. Carolin Hackmann said in a release. “However, we identified only a handful cases suggesting that neither cat nor dog ownership is an important risk factor for multidrug-resistant organism colonization in hospital patients....
