Despite the thousands of deaths caused by coronavirus, some anti-vaxxers say there is no pandemic. One in five people in the UK say they unsure about taking the vaccine and Kate Shemirani, an anti-vaxxer, claims that vaccines have never saved any lives, despite sizeable scientific evidence proving otherwise.
The spread of misinformation and falsehoods about the COVID-19 vaccine by anti-vaxxers is worrying experts who say the government must step in, otherwise the circulation of the false claims, circulating widely on social media, will lead to more deaths.
