As former Vice President Joe Biden took a sudden lead in Pennsylvania Friday morning, solidifying his bid for the presidency, President Trump’s campaign announced “the election is not over.”
“The false projection of Joe Biden as the winner is based on results in four states that are far from over,” wrote campaign general counsel Matt Morgan.

With Joe Biden on the cusp of winning the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump would not be the first incumbent to lose re-election.
But Trump would be the first sitting president to fail to win re-election in nearly three decades should Biden, his Democratic challenger, be declared the victor.

The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that the number of people with COVID-19 rose last week, but the rate of infection appears to have stabilised.
An estimated 618,700 people had coronavirus in community settings in England last week, the ONS has said.
The total equates to around one in 90 people, or 1.13% of the population, for the week between 25 and 31 October.
It represents a jump from 568,100 people, or 1.04% of the population, who were estimated to have COVID-19 in the period October 17 to 23.
But the ONS said new infections in England have stabilised at around 50,000 a day, suggesting a levelling off after a recent steep rise in cases.

The business minister refused to comment on Donald Trump's claims that the vote is being rigged and said both the current president and rival Joe Biden were "excellent" candidates for the job.
He also defended the chancellor's U-turn over the extension of the furlough scheme to help people unable to work due to the Covid-19 pandemic - and said mass testing in Liverpool will hopefully get the virus under control in the city.

Presidents are constitutionally barred from running for a third term under the 22nd Amendment, which states, “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.”
But nothing stops someone from seeking second terms at any point, even after a re-election loss, meaning the answer to the question “Can Trump run again in 2024?” is yes.
So if Donald Trump loses the 2020 presidential election, nothing stops him from running again in four years. And age wouldn’t necessarily be a factor.

President Trump declared “STOP THE COUNT!” as a number of states continue to tally ballots on Thursday — two days after the election — and his re-election campaign has filed lawsuits to halt the count.
About an hour later, he addressed the vote again in another all-caps post.
“ANY VOTE THAT CAME IN AFTER ELECTION DAY WILL NOT BE COUNTED!,” he said.

Ahead of Tuesday’s election, House Democrats were poised to expand their majority in the lower chamber of Congress. Instead, voters chose to give House Republicans five new seats.

Weed has the green light in the Garden State.
Voters in New Jersey on Tuesday approved a ballot measure to legalize recreational marijuana — which is expected to bring in $210 million in state taxes.
With nearly 60 percent of precincts reporting, roughly two-thirds of voters — 67.2 percent to 32.8 percent — approved a referendum to amend the Constitution to legalize the recreational use of pot for people 21 and older.
