Nicki Minaj’s retirement turned out just to be a couple weeks off… so maybe it was more of a vacation or sabbatical or some paid time off. But either way we’re glad she’s back!
What’s up? It’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and if you thought that Nicki Minaj was retiring from music for good, it looks like you were wrong!
But it’s valid that you were concerned because Nicki DID announce here retirement just a couple weeks ago.
On September 5th Nicki Minaj tweeted then deleted a tweet that said quote, “I’ve decided to retire and have my family. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til the death of me. X in the box cause ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for life.”
But the following day Nicki cleared things up on Twitter.
She defended herself to a heart broken fan and said quote, “I’m still right here. Still madly in love with you guys & you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be. I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologize babe.”
And Nicki wasn’t lying, she still is right here and actually just dropped a new song in the midst of all this confusion. And fans don’t even care. They are so here for this new song.
One person tweeted quote, “YES QUEEN OF RETIREMENT!”
And another said quote, “BARBZZZZ WE WONN?????RETIREMENT WHOOO?!?! NAHHHH THE QUEEN NEVER LEAVES HER THRONE NOR SHE WONT EVER GIVE IT UP????”
And they are certainly right. It doesn’t seem like Nicki is slowing down any time soon.
Yesterday, she posted on her Instagram page a snippet of PnB Rock’s new song featuring her and Murda Beatz.
Her caption said quote, “@pnbrock ft Nicki Minaj & Murda Beatz – Midnight TONIGHT #Fendi @fendi”
Then, this morning she posted to Instagram again, but this time she shared a clip from the music video.
In her caption she promoted the release date for her official collab with Fendi.
She said quote, “My @fendi collection [FOR WOMEN & MEN] will be available on Fendi.com from Oct. 14th and in select boutiques from Oct. 16th. Link in my bio to hear the full song.”
Nicki announced her collab with Fendi a couple weeks ago and has been sharing sneak peaks from the collection ever since.
And Nicki’s fans couldn’t be more excited about this collab and her new song.
One person tweeted quote, “In honor of #FENDI dropping tonight, name one #FENDIFACT about
@NICKIMINAJ…we’ll start…SHE IS THE QUEEN OF RAP.”
And another said quote, “@nickiminaj you bodied that #fendi verse just like I knew you would… I miss you..we miss you a whole lot. hope you okay & everything’s okay with you, I love you ?”
But I’m not toooo surprised Nicki just dropped this new song. I mean did you really think she was really going to retire at 36 years old? Also, she’s even spoken about new music recently before this song dropped.
In a recent article with our sister publication Elle Magazine, she talked about her upcoming album.
Yeah, so not just a single or a feature track, but a WHOLE ALBUM. That doesn’t sound like retirement to me.
When asked about her new album Nicki calls it quote, “fierce, fun, and unapologetic.”
She also added that quote, “It’s probably the most excited I’ve been about an album release in a really long time. I’m happy that we’re not making my fans wait for another album, like I’ve done in the past.”
She continued on and said quote, “This one incorporates all the things people love about Nicki, but it also just has a way bigger sound, so it goes perfectly with the collection.”
And back when the news of her alleged retirement broke, sources were saying Nicki just needed a break, which is totally understandable.
The source told TMZ that Nicki may just be taking a much needed break from the public eye to chill and rejuvenate!
And we support that! Anything she needs and I’m not complaining because we just got a new song!
