I hope you all got some sleep after yesterday’s DEVASTATING NEWS! You know the news that miss Nicki Minaj announced she’s retiring from music! Still shocked like me? Yeah well so is her ENTIRE TEAM!
What’s up everyone it’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News! Thursday was quite the day, let me tell you. Not only for all the Barbs… but also for Nicki’s entire team and friends!
Quick recap for you in case you missed it… how could you… Nicki tweeted “I’ve decided to retire and have my family. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til the death of me. X in the box cause aint nobody checkin me. Love you for life.
Clearly this had all her friends and fans up in arms… and no one could make sense of it even her team.
A source told TMZ this retirement announcement came out of nowhere and it blindsided everyone. It was especially disheartening and shocking to hear since Nicki has been in the studio working on new music in recent weeks!
The source went on to reveal that Nicki’s been in the studio so much that she still has studio time booked until October! AND on top of that she had plans to record with several artists.
Nicki came back onto twitter to defend herself after a fan begged her to explain it. In nicki’s words she said: “I’m still right here. Still madly in love with you guys & you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be. I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologize babe”
So why nicki’s sudden departure?
Nicki was reportedly pushed over the edge by constantly defending herself over accusations of not writing her own songs, questions about her hip-hop legacy … and her relationship with her fiance, Kenneth Petty.
Which we know has been controversial from the start… but like you guys… we gotta let NIcki live!
And obviously her legacy will live on…. BUT I think there might be a light at the end of this dark tumultuous tunnel. The source went on to reveal that Nicki may just be taking a much needed break from the public scrutiny and this is just a moment to chill and rejuvinate!
And to that we say… GO AHEAD AND GET YOUR R&R Nicki! Whatever you need to do to just do it so you can possibly get back to your music!
