What’s up everyone, it’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and looks like Nicki Minaj’s beef with BET is far from over.
Back in February, BET threw some serious shade Nicki’s way on Twitter when her alleged rival Cardi B made history at the Grammy’s for her Best Rap Album win.
The since deleted tweet read,
“Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront.”
The lacefront jab is of course in reference to Card’s and Nicki’s infamous fight, and let’s just say Nicki was not here for this joke.
Nicki wasted no time clapping back and pulled out of all BET events, including this year’s award show.
While BET tried to clear the air, even stating that the comment should have never happened, it doesn’t seem it was enough for “The Queen” to forgive and forget.
Most recently, the feud BET has been reignited with even more tension than before, as Nicki took to Twitter to make her true feelings known and bash The BET Awards after they reportedly suffered from low ratings.
“When u go out of ur way to b spiteful & hurt artists who have always supported ur show… when you fire great ppl who have put their heart & soul into the show… when you’d rather be a messy reality show than a prestigious award show… when ur still being dragged by that lace”
BET tried to refute these claims by pulling out their own numbers of the event and posting to Twitter.
“THE 2019 #BETAWARDS SOARS AS THE #1 CABLE AWARDS SHOW FOR THE 5TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR (2015-2019) AMONG P18-49 WITH MORE THAN 12.7 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS TUNNING IN ACROSS 8 @VIACOM NETWORKS ON SUNDAY, JUNE 23”
Clearly, the all caps in that Tweet show that BET was making a statement…
While Nicki has yet to comment further on the matter, we have a feeling this won’t be the last time we hear from her on this
